University of Southern Denmark / Danish Cluster Academy

The Department of Entrepreneurship and Relationship Management at the University of Southern Denmark, Kolding, is entering the project as a partner. The department was established in March 2005 as a merger between three centers. Today the department has 38 scientific employees(researchers/instructors and other scientific personnel) and 5 administrative employees.

In September 2009, the Department will be responsible for establishing the Danish Cluster Academy (DCA), which is a national platform for training, networking and knowledge’s haring for Danish clustermanagers. DCA is financed by the Danish Growth Council, the Region of Southern Denmark and Danfoss, a private company.

The Department carries out research on issues related to cluster development. For instance on the role of SME´s in clusters and how clusters can be a breeding ground for increased entrepreneurship.

The teachers at the University at SDU in Kolding have good experience in developing case studies, which is used in teaching at the university. Teachers apply audiovisual material when teaching cases to students.

Research Activities in the Department takes place on individual basis, in cooperation with national and international research groups and companies.
