“France Clusters (CDIF)” is an association working with almost 100 French cluster initiatives in all regions.
It was created in 1997 and within 10 years, it has created a real community of clusters managers in France. It is a national club of cluster managers offering following services:
- A cooperation platform for cluster managers : online platform, working groups, club events, yearly conference on clusters in France
- Information and communication services : resource center on cluster management and promotion of clusters initiatives (CDIF website + newsletter “Clusters Info” sent to 8000 readers in France and worldwide)
- A training programme on cluster management : dealing with each stage of the cluster’s lifecycle
- Individual or collective support to the development of clusters initiatives : based on the expertise and experiences of peers clusters managers
- Lobbying : promotion and representation of clusters’ interests and needs and input to policy development at regional, national and European levels (for example, France Clusters-CDIF was part of the evaluation committees of the two national clusters policies : local productive systems and competitiveness clusters)
Public partners of CDIF France Clusters are: the Interministerial Delegation for Land Planning and Competitiveness (DIACT), the “Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations”, the General Directorate for Vocational Training and Employment, the General Directorate for Competitiveness Industry and Services and local authorities.
